Urban Design Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Urban Design Architect to contribute to significant placemaking initiatives in Gatineau . This role involves shaping the future development of urban environments, focusing on the integration of buildings, public spaces, and infrastructure to create sustainable, vibrant, and people-centered communities. You will collaborate with municipal planners, developers, and community stakeholders to develop comprehensive urban design strategies and master plans. We are looking for a passionate designer with a deep understanding of urban dynamics, policy, and sustainable design principles.

Key Responsibilities Develop conceptual urban design proposals and master plans for diverse sites and scales. Analyze urban contexts, including social, economic, and environmental factors, to inform design strategies. Create compelling visualisations, including renderings, diagrams, and models, to communicate design concepts effectively. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including landscape architects, engineers, and urban planners. Engage with stakeholders, community groups, and regulatory bodies to gather input and build consensus. Ensure urban design proposals align with municipal planning policies and sustainability goals. Requirements Master's degree in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in urban design or architectural practice with a focus on urban environments. Proficiency in urban design software such as Rhino , Grasshopper, AutoCAD, GIS, and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong understanding of urban planning principles, zoning regulations, and sustainable development practices. Excellent graphic communication and presentation skills.
